The Kidney Genetics Clinic utilizes a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and genetic counselors, as well as state of the art diagnostic techniques, to provide comprehensive genetic services for adult patients with rare and inherited forms of kidney disease.

These services include: Comprehensive medical evaluation for genetic forms of kidney disease

• Ordering and interpretation of genetic test results
• Pre-and post-genetic testing consent and counseling
• Guidance for medical management and follow-up care
• Referrals to other medical specialists to help address the unique medical needs of our patients
• Genetic counseling and testing for at-risk family members
• Genetic counseling and testing for living kidney donors

Research Positions (On Hold)

Wanted: Postdoctoral Research Scientist/Fellow (in Computation/Bioinformatics)

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled computational biologist to join our team!  This position provides an exciting opportunity in the field to access and analyze unique and large datasets of deep genomics data (spanning from DNA arrays to exome and genome sequencing, including short and long read; cases-controls and trios-based) for thousands of individuals affected by congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract and nephrotic syndrome caused by focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and minimal change disease. The candidate will have the opportunity to explore, apply, and develop different and innovative approaches to gene discovery, including complex models of genetic determination such as gene-gene interactions. The lab also offers a wide range of transcriptomics (bulk-RNAseq, scRNAseq, snRNAseq, spatial transcriptomics) and mouse models to functionally validate and interpret genetic discoveries.
